*Sold out * Mushroom Foraging Walk — Sunday at 11 AM
Come join me this Sunday from 11:00–11:30 AM for a guided walk in the woods at my homestead! Together, we’ll explore the forest to learn how to identify and forage Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) and Birch Polypore (Fomitopsis betulina), along with tips for recognizing their common look-alikes, such as False Turkey Tail (Stereum ostrea) and Velvet Polypore (Piptoporus betulinus). I currently have big flushes of both the real mushrooms and their look-alikes, so you’ll be able to see them side by side — perfect for learning the key differences and gaining confidence in foraging Turkey Tail and Birch Polypore safely.
This will be a relaxed, hands-on, and educational — ideal for anyone curious about local medicinal mushrooms and their traditional uses. Space is limited, so please sign up in advance. Bring comfortable shoes, curiosity, a camera and a notebook if you’d like to take notes.
This is by donation. At the end, I will be offering participants sample of a mushroom broth mix that is nourshing and immune boosting made with astragalus, reishi, burdock, Eleuthera, birch polypore, turkey tail and Alantic Holdfast seaweed.
